Application of Niacinamide topically has been shown to benefit skin color, decrease melanin synthesis (important for hyperpigmentation), and decrease inflammation and itching (pruritus).
The biochemical effects of Niacinamide include increased concentration of NADPH, the donor of reducing power in cell biosynthesis, an effect that translates into increased synthesis of collagen, involucrin, filaggrin, and keratin.
Topical application of Niacinamide also decreases UV-induced skin cancers and prevented immunosuppression by UV irradiation.

Each tube is enough for 32 fl oz of cream or lotion at approximately 0.5% concentration (5 g in 960 mL cream). Use in your favorite cream or add to our Canvas Base Cream or a Sea Kelp Bioferment base.

Niacinamide (nicotinamide for chemists) is part of a coenzyme essential for metabolism. Because we cannot make it, we must acquire Niacinamide from outside sources, making it by definition, a vitamin. Even if we obtain enough Niacinamide through food and multivitamin supplements, application topically is beneficial. As skin ages, the body no longer supplies enough nutrients to the skin, partly because the density of blood vessels reaching the dermis decreases.
The effect of Niacinamide on inflammation is through inhibition of histamine release by mast cells, neutrophil chemotaxis, and release of inflammatory mediators. Niacinamide will also help with skin infections in diabetics.

" I discovered skinactives when I was looking for niacinamide powder. I recently read that by mixing 5% of it with 2 oz. of aloe vera , it is the same as using strong anti-biotics for treatment in adult acne but with no side effects. So I bought one and made my concoction. I've been using it for 2 weeks now after a massive acne break out mostly around my jawline and below the neck, my face is less inflamed and the readness had tremendously subsided. I will continue using this for now as it is working. "
