TCA Spot Peel Kit

Be sure to read all of the instructions before use.

The objective of this treatment is to lighten prominent sun spots in visible areas of the face and body. You may wish to try it first on a less visible area, like the arm rather than the face, to make sure that the post-treatment color change and peeling is acceptable for you. Healing time will vary per person and position of sunspot (with healing occurring faster on the face than on the arm), but the use of the Restoration Cream contained in this kit will help speed up the process.

The solution we use is unbuffered 17% TCA. That means that the TCA has not been netralized to make it weaker in order to show a high percentage value on the label.

We have added the TCA refill only option. This is for customers who have already purchased the kit, and therefore still have restoration cream to use, but need a refill of the TCA solution.

Refrigerate upon receipt. If spilled into eyes or other exposed surface, rinse immediately with a lot of water.

This kit contains: a small vial with a brown cap, solution applicators, and a jar of our Restoration Cream. The small vial contains the active solution with the main ingredient trichloroacetic acid, a relatively strong acid derived from acetic acid. Be careful not to touch the liquid – only apply it with the applicator provided.

To apply, immerse the applicator tip in the active solution. Squeeze the wet tip against the inside rim to remove excess and avoid drips.

Apply the TCA solution to your skin with the applicator by gently dabbing the wet applicator tip against the skin. There will be mild heat or irritation, this shows the product is working. At the first visible signs of whitening on the skin (aka "frosting"), apply Restoration Cream to immediately stop the irritation. The TCA self neutralizes by combining with skin proteins and denaturing them, inducing “peeling” and improving penetration of the Restoration Cream.

Your skin will tend to flake after 3 – 5 days, but not everyone sheds skin in the same way. DO NOT “pull” at peeling skin, as you may cause scarring and increase hyperpigmentation, instead of reducing it. When you do start to peel, do not rub the skin harshly or use exfoliant products, which can cause redness, irritation, and possible infection.

Make sure to apply Restoration Cream to the affected area each day, several times a day, during the healing process. Additionally, it is important to remember that while undergoing this treatment, the skin has little or no protection to UV light (both UVA and UVB). Therefore, it is important not to expose the skin to direct sunlight for at least two weeks following the spot treatment. You should always wear a Sunscreen with minimum SPF30 (even in winter) layered on top of the Restoration Cream. If necessary, the process can be repeated after one month. Please remember to dispose of used applicators carefully.

I am 47 years old with very fair skin living in Australia. Back in the day my Mum used to drop us kids off at the pool at 10am & pick us up at 3pm... red raw. We now know better. My skin has suffered badly from that & I am a walking sun spot. This TCA peel is amazing (albiet very expensive). After spilling 1/3 of the container, I had no choice but to treat multiple spots (about 15 of them, so a little goes a long way). I started on my calves & It stung slightly, but nothing too unbearable. The first 3 days I thought nothing was happening, but then the spots started peeling & that was 3 weeks ago & they are still peeling slightly. This TCA seems to be doing the job brilliantly. I feel I need to have another go at them becasue my spots are quite bad. Actually I would like to smear this stuff over my entire arms & legs to get all the surface, but unfortunately too expensive to do this. So the bottom line from me is the TCA Peel definately does what is should do, but will need multiple treatments for bad spots. PS. Dry brushig during the final peeling stage helps the skin regenerate gently & quickly.

When I first used this for some spots on my hand, it burned, didn't frost and I left it on for a long time and ultimately didn't remove the spots so I was not happy. Well, just a few weeks ago I decided to try it on my face since at least there was no harm done on my hand. Let me tell you, I had a totally different outcome. It did burn a bit and it did frost this time. I didn't even have to leave it on very long and for a while I had darker spots that developed and wasn't sure that would fade. Just yesterday, maybe a week after I did the spot treatment the darker spots that were created totally sloughed off like a small scab to my great surprise and delight! So, it's well worth the money and it does work and I am glad I persevered.
