Dr. Sivak's Notes:

Silymarin can help reduce damage to skin from UV light, oxidative stress and chemicals like benzoyl peroxide.

Add our Silymarin to your favorite recipe to reverse some of the damage caused by repeated exposure to benzoyl peroxide products like ProActiv.

Find this in our ready made UV Repair Cream.

Silybum Marianum (Silymarin) Extract.

Research has shown that Silymarin can help the skin recover from damage by UV light and chemical carcinogens like benzoyl peroxide, immunosuppression by UV, inflammation and oxidative stress.*
Silymarin, a heterogenous extract of Silybum marianum (milk thistle) may be as effective as RetinA but with less irritation. Silymarin has multiple beneficial effects on the skin, protecting it from a variety of environmental agents. Research has shown that Silymarin reduces the effects of toxins on epidermal cells. As an antioxidant, it prevents the oxidative damage to DNA caused by UV radiation. Recent research looked at the mechanism by which Silymarin normalizes the function of a “deranged” cell membrane receptor. These multiple functions make Silymarin an ideal ingredient for skin care.*
