Skin Concern: Redness and irritation

Skin Type: All skin types

Dr. Sivak's Notes:

Olive extracts oleuropein and squalane help moisturize and soothe dry, chapped skin.

• Olive Anti-Inflammatory Cream features cetyl myristoleate from our Pain Relief Cream to help with redness and irritation.

This thick cream with low water content protects dry skin better than traditional body lotions that have higher water content.

Apply the desired amount of Anti-Inflammatory Cream to the affected area as often as needed to alleviate irritation, dryness and redness.

Water, Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Sorbitol, Butylene Glycol, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearyl Alcohol, Squalane, Rosa moschata (Rose hip) Seed Oil, Sesamum indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Prunus amygdalus dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Persea gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Cetyl Myristoleate, Beta Glucan (Yeast), Sodium Hyaluronate, Olea europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Tetrahydrodiferuloylmethane (and) Tetrahydrodemethoxydiferuloylmethane (and) Tetrahydrobisdemethoxydiferuloylmethane, Xylitol, Luteolin, Glycyrrhiza glabra (Licorice) Extract, Quercetin, Boswellia serrata (Indian Frankincense) Extract, Polypodium leucotomos Extract, Andrographis paniculata Extract, Centella asiatica (Gotu Kola) Extract, Cyanocobalamine, Punica granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil (and) Astaxanthin (and) Tocotrienols (and) Lycopene (and) Tocopherol (and) Thioctic Acid (and) Lutein, Polysorbate 20, Citric Acid, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Propylene Glycol (and) Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Methylparaben (and) Propylparaben.

What is not in this cream? Corticosteroids. Hydrocortisone is the most common ingredient in OTC anti-inflammatory creams. While it is a great ingredient for emergencies, like a mosquito bite, long-term use of corticosteroids can cause long-term changes in skin structure.

Irritated skin gets dry and can be very painful. We add squalane which is very emollient and soothing to the skin. Oleuropein (the chemical that gives virgin olive oil its special taste) is an antioxidant and protease inhibitor. These great properties make oleuropein a frequent active in our products. Cetyl Myristoleate is the ester of cis-9-tetradecenoic acid (myristoleic acid) and 1-hexadecanol (cetyl alcohol). Although the experimental evidence is not that clear, it seems to help with pain caused by inflammation, like in the case of arthritis.*

Most OTC lotions have a high water and low oil content, which can worsen dry skin via evaporation, thus triggering irritation and redness. Conversely, thick creams with low water content, or ointments (which have zero water content) protect better against dry skin. Apply emollients immediately after bathing to keep the skin well hydrated. To alleviate itching, you can use calamine, or try our Rosehip Seed OilPomegranate Seed Oil, or take a warm bath with Oat Beta Glucan and Rosehip Seed Oil. To decrease inflammation, use Alpha BisabololWhite Willow Bark Extract, Chamomile, Rosehip Seed Oil, and/or Oat Beta Glucan.

My really sensitive, break-out prone skin LOVES this stuff!

This cream is fantastic. I have dry sensitive skin with rosacea and it has really calmed my redness. It seems to make my skin less sensitive too.

I have been using this cream for only two weeks and my super sensitive, couperose red skin loves it. I have had no reaction, feels refreshing on my face and it is less red. Great product!

I would like to say a few words about anti-inflammatory cream. I have psoriasis. Only on my elbows lately. But I lean on my elbows a lot and it hurts when I have a patch of psoriasis there. I had a prescription cream that worked but I lost it somewhere. I had a jar of anti-inflammatory cream so I tried that. Well, it took the psoriasis away very quickly, as good as the prescription cream and no doctor visit required. This is very good stuff. I bet it would work well on exzema and different types of rashes. I'll be trying it on everything that needs calming and let you know what else it works on. Anyone with these conditions, try this cream, it works.

I love the anti-inflammatory cream. I have been using a lot of the actives for my rosacea with great results, but have never been able to drink wine without getting beet red. Tonight was the first, and the only different thing that I have been using is the anti-inflammatory cream. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!

The Anti Inflammatory Cream is one of the best creams for psoriasis I've ever tried. Absorbs super fast, which is so important because I have to use it for my squirming little 2 year old that has this uncomfortable skin disorder. SHE even said, hmmmm "smell nice mommy." If there is a place where you place your customer kudos, please add me to the list! I'm impressed with your products each and every time I've ordered. I've never been disappointed in fact, all my orders of Skin Active products have EXCEEDED my expectations! Please keep up the good work Skin Actives!

i am loving the anti-inflammatory cream! it is really soothing and calming for my rosacea-troubled cheeks. it's been a gradual process but the redness has been steadily fading and the tiny red bumps, which had resurfaced after i thought i had them beat, are on the retreat again. it also adds just the right light touch of moisture i need.

Works great on eczema patches on both myself and my baby. I've been religiously applying it to puffy, red pores on my cheeks for a couple of months and it looks like I'm finally seeing some results! Great texture, little scent, and it actually works.

I have some sort of skin condition on my face, colourless bumps around my chin and mouth. A number of dermatologists have given me many, many creams that seem to just make it worse. Because I had tried so many prescription creams already, as well as antibiotics that didn't work, I was skeptical to try it but the nice price made it seem less painful in the event that it didn't work. Anyhow, I'm so pleasantly surprised! Although the condition never quite disappears completely, I see about a 95 percent improvement on most days! It's truly amazing cream and not only does it diminish the look of the skin condition, it feels great on (well you really don't feel it) and it moisturizes my dry skin to boot. Thanks so much! I'm a huge fan of your product line!

Feels good but turns my fair skin yellowish green. Doesn't work in the daytime! Had a pretty embarrassing day because of it!

I get spontaneous itchy spells on my legs and hips from time to time, especially at night. This cream reliably calms it down. Helpful and effective. I do notice a very slight grittiness in the texture. I don't care; this stuff works! Also helpful for after overzealous extractions on the face. It takes time-it's not instant, but a dab on the grouchy spot will work its wonder and have it look WAY better by the next day. Thank you for this cream!

I have given one of these away to help a friend with chronic redness. It worked great for her. My family has used it for a number of conditions. It does work well used at night.

I had really bad hand eczema, so bad I could not make a fist. This cream gave me amazing results that I could notice after one use. I found it reduced itchyness and inflammation, and improved the texture of the skin on my hands. After a month of use along with rosehip oil my eczema was almost none existent and now I can move my hands any which way I want:). Thanks so much for making this cream its greatly improved my quality of life!

My skin loves this cream, I have been on antibiotics longterm for what my doctor said was perioral dermatitis, but after being on the antibiotics a fe weeks I get acne. Since starting to use this cream with rosehip seed oil, rosacea control serum my skin is perfect and I haven't taken antibiotics in over a year. I am 38 now and my skin has never been better. I spent a fortune on high end creams and none of them worked nearly as well as skinactives.
