The Horse Chestnut from Skin Actives Scientific can be used topically to help with varicose veins, swelling, and oxidative stress.

Escin (aescin), a bioflavonois, is the active chemical in Horse Chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum) extract responsible for many of its medicinal properties. Centuries ago, Horse Chestunt was used to ameliorate varicose veins in the leg, hemorrhoids, and phlebitis. Regarding the skin itself, escin inhibits elastase and hyaluronidase, preserving the structure and volume of the dermis matrix. Rutin, another chemical present in Horse Chestnut extract, also strengthens fragile capillaries, working synergistically with escin to promote vascular health.

Each tube is enough for 24 fl oz of cream or lotion at approximately 1% concentration (5 g in 720 mL cream). Use in your favorite cream or add to our Canvas Base Cream or a Sea Kelp Bioferment base. The powder will not dissolve immediately but will release components slowly into the cream/lotion. We suggest using Centella Asiatica with Horse Chestnut, as they work in synergy.
