Many of our clients expect to be given a very detailed program of “how to use” skin care products, following the practice at the fancy counters of expensive stores, but in reality there are very few rules that need to be followed. Penetration of actives that are water soluble will be higher after a shower or bath, and it may be easier to layer a cream on top of a serum. Metals like copper will accelerate oxidation of vitamin C derivatives, so it is better not to use copper at the same time than, say, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate in CHAS. But apart from these few “rules” the idea behind a sampler is that you try the serums and creams and see which ones work better for you.
