Emulate • verb: to try to equal or excel; imitate with effort to equal or surpass.

EMUlator • noun: the new Emu free moisturizing active from Skin Actives.

The fat of the emu is not that different from that of the chicken. Despite the huge amount of advertising, there are no articles published in international scientific journals to confirm the magical virtues of emu oil. There is however a lot to be said for providing the skin with oils, especially those containing essential fatty acids and especially in the winter. Older skin is “starved” of nutrients, and providing nutrition topically will compensate for loss of irrigation of the dermis by blood vessels and loss of nutrition.

Emulation is better than imitation: it implies that we can do better than the original. Why is EMUlator oil better than emu oil? In formulating it, I tried to achieve a similar appearance, viscosity and fatty acid composition to that of emu oil, but added oils that contain special fatty acids and those known to be particularly good to the skin.

EMUlator should also be able to help with the loss of subcutaneous fat that comes with aging. What is NOT there: because bacteria and mold will not grow in a water-free medium, there is no need for preservatives, but I added some nice antioxidants that will prolong the shelf life of the oil and will also benefit your skin. Add this nice oil to your favorite cream to help with dry skin, as massage oil, or on its own as nutrition for older skin.

Wow! Put this on my daughter's excema and the next morning it was amazingly better. She loves it. It doesn't burn the skin and it heals it. I've been using it on my face during the winter too.

I've been using emu oil on my sensitive skin for years but I like this so much better! I use it to heal my tattoos as well as on my nails and hands at night. I work with a lot of chemicals and have to wash my hands multiple times daily so they really take a beating. EMUlator oil mixed with the Be Kind Rewind cream works really well and I've noticed a big difference in the appearance of my hands. Less torn cuticles and split nails. Yay!
