The ingredients in the Bright-I cream promote skin nutrition, (sea kelp bioferment, hyaluronic acid, natural active peptides), synthesis and protection of proteins (palmitoyl tetrapeptide) and structural polysaccharides, and cell replication (like epidermal growth factor, retinyl acetate).

The delicate skin in the eye area is already thinner than in the rest of the face, and it gets thinner with age, so all of these actives will prevent further losses. Thinner skin is why capillaries are more visible, contributing to the appearance of dark under-eye circles.

If your dark circles are hereditary and caused by melanin pigmentation, our Bright-I cream will not help you much, but you could try our skin brightening cream.

Question: Do I need a special eye cream?
The answer: it depends. Do you have any problems specific to the eye area? If not, just use the creams and/or serums you use for the rest of your face, décolleté, hands, etc.

For those of us who do have problems specific to the delicate area around the eyes, what can you expect from our Bright-I cream?

Let’s have a look at the actives in our Bright-I cream.  Some of the actives are present in other Skin Actives products, promoting skin nutrition, (sea kelp bioferment, hyaluronic acid, natural active peptides), synthesis and protection of protein (palmitoyl tetrapeptide) and structural polysaccharides, and cell replication (like epidermal growth factor, retinyl acetate).  The delicate skin in the eye area is already thinner than in the rest of the face, and it gets thinner with age, so all of these actives will prevent further losses. Thinner skin is also why capillaries are more visible, contributing to the appearance of dark under-eye circles.

Other actives have general antioxidant properties but also display specific properties that makes them especially useful for the delicate eye area.

Retinyl acetate, a retinoid and a form of Vitamin A, will accelerate skin renewal, preventing the formation of milia and “erasing” wrinkles

Caffeine is a great active: it promotes efflux of sodium, promotes fat mobilization, has analgesic properties, antioxidant activity and more. One of my favorite aspects of caffeine is that it promotes post-replication repair of DNA, one reason that caffeine helps prevent cancer.

Chrysin activates the enzyme uridine diphosphate-glucuronosyltransferase (UGT1A1) that leads to the degradation of bilirubin, a product of breakdown of blood hemoglobin that may be released by broken capillaries. It also suppresses histamine release, and “puffy” eyes are a very common complaint.

Lecithin is in this formulation to provide lipids your skin needs.  Lecithin taken orally seems to help decrease serum cholesterol, but it does not work when injected into lipomas (a benign tumor made of adipose tissue), and it will not make your fatty thighs go thin. However, some Skin Actives clients say it works well on fat deposits under the eyes. Remember that topical application of caffeine can decrease the thickness of subcutaneous fat, so even if lecithin does not work for you, our Bright-I cream may. You could also try our cellulite control cream.

Hesperidin methyl chalcone is an effective antioxidant that decreases capillary fragility and permeability. This does not mean that you should feel free to rub your eyes when you are sleepy, rubbing eyes is a “no-no”.

Glutathione, a great natural antioxidant that fulfills crucial roles in our body, is always helpful, especially in polluted environments like a big city or the highway.

If you have dark under-eye circles caused by broken capillaries, it will improve them or clear them completely (the same properties will help erase bruising caused by any cause, because the actives will help clear the tell-tales signs of blood leaks).

If your dark circles are hereditary and caused by melanin pigmentation, our Bright-I cream will not help you much, but you could try our skin brightening cream.

Apply once or twice daily to clean, dry skin around the eyes and on the eye lids.

After only 10 days of use, my undereye circle are gone by 70%. This is amazing stuff! Can't wait to see how much better they get !

EXCELLENT MOISTURIZER FOR THE DIFFICULT EYE AREA!!Unfortunately,it didn't do much for the faint dark circles I have (maybe I should put Vitamin K in the cream to see a difference, since as far as I know I'm not allergic to Vitamin K),but it sure nourishes and moisturizes the eye area which is so thin and delicate.I wouldn't trade it for any other eye cream.

Very silky! And they're right - it doesn't cause milia, something I've been VERY susceptible to ever since I started applying eye creams. I am so glad I found this one. The skin around my eyes actually looks healthier. Maybe I should use it everywhere!

Love this stuff. It is light but very effective. The skin around my eyes no longer feels dry and tight.

The skin around my eyes is very hydrated- a+ for that. But the dark circles....no difference- not even minimal. The only reason I will keep using this product is to see if it takes longer to show a difference and to keep my eye area hydrated.

I add liquid crystal to this eye cream and I love it! The best eye cream I've used, I can't imagine paying the outrageous prices they charge for eye creams out there that aren't half as good as this one! I can't say if it works on dark circles or not, since mine are genetic and I've had them since childhood, so they aren't going anywhere and I've accepted that! So if your looking to get rid of your genetic dark circles you should give up and just use a great eye cream and a concealer:) The liquid crystal added to this really illuminates they eye area and minimizes darkness and fine lines really disappear.

Excellent for hydration! I've tried so many and I'm happy to have one that does not irritate or cause millia. Not sure there's been a big effect on dark circles or puffiness, even with some vit K mixed in. But worth it for the excellent hydration alone.

I have used this product morning and night since december 23, 2011 - so a little more than 2 months. i purchased vitamin K and added to it. I do not see a significant difference in the dark circles under my eyes - but i DO really like the cream and just repurchased. it has a great texture --- and good eye cream. To me better than drug store brands that cost roughly the same price.

UPDATE: in the last 2 weeks this eye cream has started giving me a terrible rash under my eyes. I had been using it and liking it for some time and thought it couldnt possibly be. The rash got so bad i stopped the eye cream. The rash cleared up. I tried the eye cream again, and within one day my eyes are red and swollen (the skin under my eyes)

This is a great eye cream. I think it has faded my undereye circles a bit (although I also wear concealer so they aren't as dark). Mostly, I like how light and moisturizing it is. It reminds me alot of another eye concentrate that I used that cost about $180 per ounce. It is gentle enough that it doesn't bother my contact lenses at all even though I sleep in them. It works better if you use it 2x day (morning and night).

I love this eye cream. I haven't noticed a difference in my (faint) dark circles, but eyelashes have gotten slighty, yet noticeably, thicker & longer. It also hydrates nicely.

Been using it for a few weeks now. It's a great cream.
It keeps my eyes moisturized & diminishes fine lines & puffiness. There's no stinging like some eye creams & it absorbs quickly. I use it am & pm.

I think my eyelashes have gotten thicker/longer since using it too!

I cannot recommend this eye cream positively enough!!! I am a young 60 and my skin looks fantastic (thanks to discovering SkinActives, that is another review) but have always had sunken areas with dark circles under my eyes, no matter what age. I have spent a fortune on the most expensive and touted eye creams, plus less expensive- they have never worked. PLUS, my usual problem is sensitivity to the ingredients- they would make my eyes water, or cause under eyes sting. Plus some of the most expensive were too thick and cause drag under my eyes- that doesn't make sense!

I add the Vitamin K to this eye cream, and it is perfect! Perfect consistency, goes on easily and my under eye circles are definitely faded, plus the area looks less sunken! The Vitamin K adds a yellow tint which I also think helps diffuse the blue shadows. I could not be happier (unless it took away all my crow's feet of course) but I will continue to use this product for life, as long as they make it!

I've been using this cream on and off for years now. I've been searching for the holy grail of eye creams so to say. I've come back to this cream, because it's by far the best in the market. Coming to this conclusion it's time to write this review ;-)
The amount of moisture it gives is just right. Leave it for a few minutes and you're ready for make up.
It plumps up my skin, even out the crepey eyelids, making them slightly tighter.

I love it ... really has a positive impact on my skin!

I used this cream twice a day until the end of one jar. Could not remove my dark circles or the puffiness. But it has a good texture and no scent, which I like. Keeps the eye area moisturized.
