Skullcap is one of the key herbs in Chinese medicine with the name huáng qín. Skullcap extract contains baicalein, chrysin and more but SAS powder extract is standardized for the flavonoid baicalin (90%). For the skin, the most relevant activities of baicalin are prevention of damage by UV and control of atopic dermatitis. Baicalin also seems to have anticancer and antiviral activity. You will find skullcap extract in products from La Prairie, Clinique and MLab. Use ours if you want concentrations high enough to make a difference.
