Amla has become an important anti-aging ingredient, as it helps protect the skin from the damaging effects of free radicals and metal-induced oxidative stress.
In the past the health benefits of Amla were attributed to Ascorbic Acid (vitamin C), but later Amla crucial chemicals were found to be polyphenols (tannins), gallic acid and Ellagic Acid (linked together to form other tannins), and rutin.
Amla is one of the three components of Trifala, a rejuvenating formula in Ayurvedic medicine. It has been found to have chemopreventive acitivity, the capacity to prevent cancer brought about by chemical cancer-causing agents.
With iron and copper chelating ability, this extract is a perfect complement for Chrysin in the treatment of dark circles under the eyes.
Each tube is enough for about 12 fl oz of cream or lotion at approximately 3% concentration (10 g in 360 mL cream). so we recommend using 3.3 grams in a 4 oz cream. Use in your favorite cream or add to our Canvas Base Cream, European Cream, or our Sea Kelp Ultramarine base.
You can also add to shampoo and bath gel to help chelate metals present in tap water.
